My version of the Super Bowl dance goes something like this: Yippee. Weehe. Yippee. Weee. Happy Dance and slide to the left.
Yes!! It just keeps getting better! It's a good day to be an American (and I don't say that very often).

Kerry Healy loses! YAY!! No more Ken and Barbie dolls in the State House.
I just wish he had a better speaking voice. For some reason, his really grates on my nerves.
good news isn't it? i will not be pissy for 3 months this year. and if the dems take montana and VA i could very well be ecstatic!
I honestly woke up and sang the halleluja (sp?!) chorus to myself today.
And we are thisclose to getting the Senate too! I doubt it will happen (too much wonderfulness all at once) but you just never know... :-)
yes, i saw that last night, that the south dakatons finally got they're heads out of their asses and did the right thing.
Ah yes, I got up in a really good mood today. We have finally reversed the trend!
Agreed, most heartily.
No more Rick Santorum either!!
It was close enough that we will recount before announcing, but Webb DID take Virginia. I worked the polls yesterday in the rain and it was worth it. Unfortunately the voters did approve the ballot initiative on gay marriage - doesn't actually change anything for gays because it was already against the law but the thing was written in muddy obscurment. I think they just outlawed common law marriages, but who knows. But I saw more than one elderly person who had it all explained, told us they didn't want to change anything and then went in and voted the wrong way for what they said they wanted. Confusing the voters is evil. Bet the courts throw it out in the end. For one thing it didn't go on the ballots in full, so what they voted on wasn't the full text.
Amen! It's been a good 24 hours. I just wish my area could have added a Dem representative to the mix. We'll try again in two more years...
Oh, and the house looks like a winner! I can't wait to see the inside pictures.
I am relieved that the Democrats took back control. The worst part was that VA and other states voted against same-sex marriage. It embarrasses me to admit I am from that state, excuse me, "Commonwealth," for that reason. The best part of the deal is that Rumsfield resigned. Oh, and if you heard some hootin’ and hollarin’ earlier today when that news came out, it was ME. Let's bring 'em home!
=:8
Yep--the VA news is awfully weird. SUCH a regressive amendment that actually makes not only marriage but ANY legal status of relationships illegal. But to elect Webb at the same time? (I guess I could do a whole thing about how the length he has gone his whole life to prove he is macho allowed people to be both rabidly anti-gay and democratic.)
and we have the senate, too!!!
I'm about two seconds from breaking into the Happy ButtDance. And nobody wants to see -that-, i assure you.
Yay!!! In NH, not only did we get rid of our two Republican incumbent Congressmen, but we also kept our Dem. governor and gave the Dems control of both state houses and the executive council. I am very pround on behalf of my state. :-)
I am so happy about the shift in the balance of power. And I'm happy that voters in my state were smart enough to boot the incumbent. However, they were not smart enough to realize that a state that already has more than 3 laws explicitly banning gay marriage maybe doesn't also need a constitutional ammendment to do that. Thank god for Massachusetts!
