I cannot wait to see the finished house. It's hard work but oh so worth it in the end.
Wanted to share a nail-pulling tool with you...those old ones can be an all-day job sometimes. Lehmans.com is the only place I've ever seen these outside of my father's extensive and well-used tool boxes. Cutting nippers(sometimes referred to as horse nippers by the oldtimers) let you grip the nail and give leverage to pull them out without killing yourself or gouging the wood a lot like other methods.
A thought: my scene design professor in grad school has this amazing old townhouse that is "of an age" with Ms. 1890. Because he's a designer, he's tried to keep the original flavor of the house as he has restored it. One of my favorite things that he did was hang a picture frame on sections of the wall where the wallpaper had peeled back (much like the pictures you showed) so that the history of the house was part of the decoration. Of course, that might not fit in with your vision of Ms. 1890, so feel free say "Julie, what the hell are you smoking?".
And in huge news, I finally crossed the Knitting Olympics finish line on Saturday. Slow, even for a Turtle, but the stupid shawl is now complete and ready to be mailed to mom. Hurrah!
Happy New Year! Hope you received my little bundle of goodies. Home Depot is not a gift-savvy site, but I really thought you could make some great memories with Little Man and Wifey using the gingerbread molds! =:8

Happy Nude Year (hic)!
i'm kind of liking the 1970 paper but the hiding beadboard is much better.
happy new year!
I had a feeling you were "working behind the scenes" with Ms. 1890 ... she's going to be beautiful. Happy New Year!
Always a good sign when there is bead board under the tacky-ass layers of wallpaper. Happy New Year! It's lookin' good!

Happy New Year to you and your loved ones! And may your house turn out exactly as you want. :)
Happy New Year to you, your family and Ms. 1890! She's looking beeyootiful! And those plaid pants - I'm jealous.
Happy new Year! I still can't believe you're doing all this home improvement stuff yourself. And it looks great!
